The rounded bottom keeps it from tipping over when my son sets it down mid-shop, which honestly saves a lot of toy meltdowns. It's sized just right for his shoulders too, so he actually carries it himself instead of handing it to me.
My daughter carries this thing everywhere now, filling it with play veggies and whatever else she finds around the house. It fits her little shoulders perfectly and the wide opening makes it easy for her to dig toys in and out.
