The solid maple legs give this shelf real stability even when loaded with heavy books. I love that the open cubbies make it easy to swap out my rotating collection of small treasures. Assembly took maybe 20 minutes and everything lined up perfectly.
The Baltic birch shelves have held up way better than the particleboard unit we had before, no sagging even with my kid's heavier picture books piled on top. The solid maple legs give it a nice sturdy feel, and the open cubbies make it easy for my toddler to grab her own stuffies.
I was worried the open cubbies would look messy, but they've actually made my kids' toys way easier to find. The solid maple legs feel sturdy enough that I don't worry about it tipping when my toddler pulls himself up on it.
